5 Yevgeny Kafelnikov

DOB:18.02.1974
Nationality:Russian
World Ranking:6
Previous Wimbledon results:
2001 ::third round
2000 ::second round
1999 ::first round
1998 ::first round

Kafelnikov boasts a game strong enough to have captured two Grand Slam titles and has consistently been among the world's top six players in recent years.

But the Russian also possesses a streak of indifferent unpredictablity that has increasingly blighted his performances.

Kafelnikov has had a dreadul season so far, crashing out of both the Australian and French Opens at the second round stage.

And in 11 other tournaments he has managed just one semi-final appearance, causing his Champions Race ranking to slip to 32.

Wimbledon is unlikely to be the scene of a revival as grass and the Russian right-hander have never really seen eye to eye.

The former world number one's best result came back in 1995 when he reached the quarter-finals.
