| ![]() 7 Roger Federer
Both on and off the court, Federer is one of the most easy-going and popular players on the tour. The 21-year-old caused a sensation when he beat Wimbledon supremo Pete Sampras in the fourth round last year. But Federer's pedigree on grass was proved long ago when he won the Wimbledon junior title. This year has seen him cement his early promise, with a Masters Series victory in Hamburg and runners-up spots in Milan and Miami. And a shock first round exit at the French Open may have helped his preparation for Wimbledon. There is still a slight question mark over his nerve at crucial moments, but Federer is looking more and more like a future world number one - and a possible Wimbledon champion. |
