Teenager Heather Watson has won a place in the main draw of the $25,000 River Hills Women's Challenger event in Jackson, Mississippi. The 17-year-old beat fellow Briton Nicola Slater 6-0 6-2 in the third and final qualifying round. Watson, seeded sixth, had previously overcome America's Alexandra Cercone 6-4 7-5 and Australia's Vanja Galijasevic 6-1 6-0. The Guernsey player will also team up with Laura Robson in the doubles. The pair face American Lena Litvak and Argentinean Aranza Salut in their first round match.
