Guernsey's Heather Watson and Hungarian partner Timea Babos lost the final of the girls' doubles at the French Open in a nail-biting deciding tie-break.

Elena Bogdan (Romania) and Thailand's Noppawan Lertcheewakarn proved too strong, winning 3-6 6-3 1-0 (10-8).

Watson, playing in her first Grand Slam final, and Babos went ahead early on and held on to take the set 6-3.

But they lost the second set by the same margin and then were edged out in a thrilling champions tie-break.

Watson, 17, who has a career-high junior world ranking of 12, was knocked out of the singles by France's Gracia Radovanovic on Monday.
