Cyclists break records in Wales

McLaughlin was the fastest Guernsey rider over 25 miles

Guernsey cyclists have set new off-island records at the Ogmore Valley 25-mile time trial in south Wales.

Ann Bowditch broke her previous record by 42 seconds, recording a time of 58 minutes 35 seconds to finish fifth.

James McLaughlin, 18, also registered his fastest time over 25 miles, finishing in 51.07 seconds to put him sixth in the men's competition.

There were also strong performances in the men's event from newcomer Josh Gosselin and Neil Ridley.

Gosselin came home with a time of 53.02, whilst Ridley finished in 57.09.
