Watson is out of the singles in Moscow (James Jordan)

Guernsey's Heather Watson has been knocked out in the third round of the European under-16s tennis championships in Moscow.

Watson, the national under-16s champion, beat lost 7-5 6-1 to Spain's Maria Teresa Torro.

But she is still in the doubles with her partner Tara Moore.

The pair are through to the third round after beating Serbian number seven seeds Doroteja Eric and Alesandra Krunic 7-5 6-2.

They will now face the Dutch pair of Sabine Van Der Sar and Paula De Man.
