Guernsey lost their second consecutive international |
Guernsey lost by 72 runs to Kenya in Thursday's one-day international. Batting first Kenya scored 194-9 in their 50 overs as they warmed up for the Twenty20 World Cup qualifiers. In reply Guernsey had a disastrous start, losing their opening three wickets for 10 runs before rallying to 122 all out off 44 overs at Hove. "They fielded and bowled brilliantly, as good a performance as we've seen from any Guernsey side for many years," GCB chairman Dave Piesing said. "They were against truly top class opposition," he added on BBC Guernsey. Piesing felt the game was lost after the opening three batsmen went cheaply, but was happy with how the side recovered. "Any chance of winning the game disappeared at that point. But to recover from there and make it respectable and put in a big effort in was amazing," he said.
