Guernsey's national under-16s tennis champion Heather Watson's Wimbledon dream was ended in the quarter-finals.

Watson and her British partner Tara Moore went down 6-3 6-3 to big-serving Australians Isabella Holland and Sally Peers in the girls' doubles on Friday.

Holland and Peers, who served at up to 110 mph, went on to win through to Monday's final after winning their semi-final 9-7 in the final set.

Watson and Moore had beaten the number seven seeds in the first round.

They then enjoyed a second round victory over Katazyna Piter of Poland and Slovakia's Romana Tabakova, winning a marathon final set 9-7 after clinching the first 6-3 and losing the second 7-5.

Watson had beaten Holland, the world junior number 41, in the pre-Wimbledon Roehampton tournament.
