Watson is through to the second round of the doubles

Guernsey's Heather Watson is through to the second round of the girls' doubles at Wimbledon.

Watson and her British partner Tara Moore won 6-3 6-3 against Bistra Otashliyska of Bulgaria and Alyona Sotnikova of Ukraine.

They will now face the winners of the first round match between Cindy Chala and Noppawan Lertcheewakarn and Katarzyna Piter and Romana Tabakova.

Watson was knocked out in the first round of the singles on Saturday.

With a further two years left at junior level Watson, who is currently ranked 8th in the British girls and 227th in the world, is one of the youngest competitors at Wimbledon this year.
