Watson could have an easier passage to the last eight |
Heather Watson has been dealt a slightly easier second round draw in the girls' doubles at Wimbledon. The 16-year-old national champion and partner Tara Moore will face Poland's Katarzyna Piter and Slovakia's Romana Tabakova on Wednesday. Piter and Tabakova beat seventh seeds Cindy Chala and Noppawan Lertcheewakarn 7-5 6-1 on Tuesday to set up the match, which is third up on court six. Piter was the number 16 seed in the girls' singles but lost in round two. A place in the quarter-finals against either the number two seeds, Romania's Ana Bogdan and Ksenia Lykina from Russia, or unseeded Australian pairing Isabella Holland and Sally Peers awaits the winners. Holland is ranked number 41 in the junior game, but was beaten by Watson at Roehampton earlier this month.
