After reaching his first final in Buenos Aires last year, Calleri has followed the example of so many of his countrymen by becoming a fixture in the world's top 50. And that does not appear to be the limit of the 26-year-old's ambitions after a strong start to 2003.
Calleri claimed his first title in Acapulco and followed it up with a run to the final in Estoril, as well as a semi-final spot in Barcelona.
He then topped that by reaching the final of the Hamburg Masters, where he was beaten by compatriot Guillermo Coria.
The Argentine's best results have all come on clay.
In contrast, his record on grass is fairly dismal.
He failed to make it past the first round at Wimbledon in 2001 and 2002, and a similar outcome is expected this time around.
