Dinara Safina, Marat Safin's 16-year-old sister, picked up her first WTA Tour title when Henrieta Nagyova of Slovakia retired in the Idea Prokom Open final.

Nagyova, who has collected eight WTA Tour titles in her career, withdrew with a foot injury when trailing 3-6 0-4.

"I am very happy with this first victory," said Safina. "At the beginning of the year I was 172nd on the WTA list, now I'm 105 and I hope to enter the first hundred very soon."

Safina, who earned $50,000 for the win, took an early break to clinch the first set.

And Nagyova struggled to make an impression in the second set as she toiled with her injury.

She made a number of unforced errors before she eventually retired.

"I'll find out how serious it is after consulting my doctor tomorrow," said Nagyova of her injury.

"I was planning to take some time off next week anyway."
