Semi Tadulula played rugby league for Bradford and Wakefield |
Leeds Carnegie winger Semi Tadulala believes that he still has plenty of improvement to make in rugby union. The ex-rugby league man has impressed in his first three games for the club since his summer move from Gloucester. But Tadulala told BBC Radio Leeds: "My position is one thing I will not take for granted. I'm going to keep working hard to keep my position. "I'm pleased to be playing, but I'm very critical of my own game. There is always room for improvement." Three years on from his first aborted move to rugby union when Gloucester almost signed him in 2006, the former Wakefield and Bradford winger finally switched codes with a move to Kingsholm in January. But, after making just two appearances for Gloucester, he returned to West Yorkshire in the summer with Leeds. After starting the season with three straight defeats, at home to Bath and Saracens, either side of the narrow 22-21 defeat back at Gloucester, Tudalala is still looking for his first try. | We know it's important to get the monkey off our back and get that first win Leeds winger Semi Tadulala |
Now, ahead of this Saturday's trip to Premiership champions Leicester, Tadulala is looking to improve on his performance against Saracens. "I wasn't happy with the way I played," he said. "Being critical, looking for ways to improve and trying to be the best is what separates you from being a normal player. "As I team we know it is still early days and it is a long season, but we don't want to be leaving it until the second half of the season to start performing. "We know it's important to get the monkey off our back and get that first win. "Hopefully we can do that this week to kick off our season. "It is only little things but, in big games, it is always the little things that will cost you in the end. "We need to address that within the squad and, if we get that right, then we will be in a better position."
