Gloucester are closing in on the loan signing of wing Semi Tadulala from league side Wakefield until January. The Cherry and Whites have confirmed they are in talks with the 28-year-old Fijian although they insist that "there are a number of issues to be resolved".
Tadulala joined the Wildcats three years ago and was their leading try-scorer this season with 17.
"If he likes it and they want him, the likelihood is that he will stay," said Wakefield chief executive Steve Ferres.
"He is under contract for next season. But he has a burning desire to play rugby union at international level, and this will help him achieve that aim."
Although he is contracted to Wakefield for next year, a transfer fee has reportedly been agreed in case both parties want to make the move permanent.
Tadulala recently helped the Wildcats to victory in their relegation decider against Castleford.
He played for Fiji in the 2000 World Cup and has attracted the interest of Super League champions Bradford.
Gloucester, who are unbeaten in their opening four games of the Premiership season, are also believed to have agreed a deal with Bradford centre Karl Pryce.
