Tadulala joined Wakefield from Melbourne Storm in 2003 |
Fijian winger Semi Tadulala has rejoined Wakefield after his move to union side Gloucester collapsed. The 28-year-old joined Gloucester at the end of the 2006 Super League season on loan and the two clubs agreed a fee in case the switch became permanent.
But he was unable to obtain a work permit to play union and after spending the close season in Australia, Tadulala has now returned to the Wildcats.
"We're absolutely delighted," said head coach John Kear.
"It's worked out for the benefit of the club in the long run.
"He's refreshed but he's come back in great shape. You forget what a big, fine athlete he is."
Tadulala, who has 12 months left on his Wakefield contract, missed only one game for the Wildcats in 2006 and was their leading try-scorer with 17 touchdowns in 27 appearances.
Meanwhile, Wakefield hooker David March is a doubt for the opening Super League game against newly-promoted Hull KR on 10 February.
The long-serving forward tore a calf muscle in training, shortly after recovering from a foot operation, and will not be able to play in his own testimonial on 21 January.
However, the club report that winger Waine Pryce, signed in the close season from relegated Castleford, is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a broken leg.
And prop Danny Sculthorpe and half-back Ben Jeffries are both recovering well from shoulder operations.
