| Friday, 24 May, 2002, 11:44 GMT 12:44 UK Howe in Irish tour call-up Ulster's Tyrone Howe packing his bags for New Zealand Ulster winger Tyrone Howe has been called up for Ireland's tour to New Zealand. Howe, unlucky not to be in the original tour party, comes in for injured Munster winger Anthony Horgan. Horgan was forced out of Munster's Heineken Cup final against Leicester on Saturday because of a broken hand which he received in a training accident. Howe, whose form dipped following his return from the Lions tour to Australia, has now been given his chance to reclaim a place in the starting line-up. ''It was a close call originally to leave Tyrone,'' said Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan. ''But now he has a great chance to leave down a marker for next season. ''It's now up to him.'' |
