Vagabonds were beaten 21-15 at home by Winnington Park in South Lancs/Cheshire Division One on Saturday. The Manx side led 10-7 at half-time after Winnington flanker Phil Parrott was sent off for foul play. With 10 minutes remaining, the sides were locked at 15-15, but two penalties from Ben Elliott sealed victory for the third-placed side. Vagabonds captain Leigh Kennaugh said: "It was a very competitive game but we just gave too many penalties away." He added: "We are disappointed but the performance has given us plenty to build on for the Wigan game on Saturday." The defeat sees Vagabonds remain seventh in the standings. In Division Two, Douglas and Ramsey both suffered defeats. Douglas went down 15-6 away at bottom side Holmes Chapel, the hosts' first win of the season. Meanwhile, Ramsey had a great battle with promotion contenders Dukinfield, despite slipping to a 10-3 defeat. Elsewhere, Douglas B thrashed Emerging Nomads 63-7 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.
