All three Manx sides made winning starts to the new year, in their respective South Lancashire/Cheshire Leagues on Saturday.

Vagabonds moved up to sixth in Division One after beating struggling Oswestry 17-15 away from home.

Meanwhile, Ramsey and Douglas both won home ties in Division Two.

Ramsey beat Moore 20-10 at Mooragh Park whilst Douglas pulled off something of a shock result when they beat promotion challengers Oldershaw at Port-e-Chee.

Elsewhere, Vagabonds B moved into top spot in the Shimmin Wilson Shield, after a 15-7 away win at bottom side Emerging Nomads.

Vagas now lead Southern Nomads by a point and have a game in hand.
