Vagabonds suffered their first defeat in four games with a narrow 15-10 loss at Liverpool Collegiate in South Lancs/ Cheshire Division One on Saturday. The Manx side led with ten minutes of the match remaining but could not hold out on Burnage's artificial pitch. Captain Leigh Kennaugh told BBC Isle of man: "We're very disappointed, we gave away too many stupid penalties." The Isle of Man side remain seventh in the table with Liverpool Collegiate moving up to fifth. Vagabonds' Sam Brennan scored the opening try of the match, which Kennaugh converted, before both sides exchanged penalties to see Vagabonds lead 10-3 at the interval. In the second half Collegiate bagged three further penalties and a drop goal. "We really wanted to maintain our winning streak but we will look to get back on track next week," added Kennaugh. Meanwhile, in Division Two, Douglas recorded their third win of the season, beating Sefton 20-12. The game was switched to Mooragh Park due to a frozen pitch. Elsewhere, Ramsey's 30-month unbeaten home record was wiped out by leaders Ruskin Park. Ruskin Park ran out 29-3 winners to open up a three-point gap at the top of the table. The defeat leaves the northerners in seventh whilst Douglas are 11th.
