Vagabonds were hammered 49-13 at high-flying Widnes in South Lancs/Cheshire Division One on Saturday. The victory sees Widnes strengthen their hold on second place, whilst Vagabonds remain seventh. In Division Two, an under-strength Ramsey returned to winning ways, with a 20-13 victory over rock bottom Holmes Chapel at Mooragh Park. Meanwhile, Douglas were beaten 14-30 at home to Marple in the other Division Two game. Elsewhere, Southern Nomads kept their Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield hopes alive with a 19-6 win over Vagabonds B. Castletown temporarily top the standings, after their home clash with Ramsey B was abandoned after an hour with the home side leading 25-17. The scheduled match between Emerging Nomads and Douglas B was postponed.
