All three Manx rugby sides suffered disappointment in the South Lancashire/Cheshire leagues on Saturday.

Vagabonds fought back from 16-5 to lead by a point at half-time against Ashton-on-Mersey in Division One.

However the visitors came out the better side in the second-half and emerged 23-17 winners.

Meanwhile, Ramsey were beaten 30-10 away at Marple and Douglas suffered defeat at the hands of Moore in Division Two.

Elsewhere, Castletown defeated leaders Vagabonds B 23-22 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield and Ramsey B thrashed Emerging Nomads 78-5 at Mooragh Park.
