Cornish Pirates maintain regime despite bad weather
Cornish Pirates' forwards coach Ian Davies says the side are adequately prepared for Sunday's game with London Welsh despite the bad weather.
The former Lanelli player said that Pirates have been doing all of their training inside this week.
Davies told BBC Cornwall: "We've not been able to do any outdoor training which obviously has been a problem.
"But people have taken on their own responsibility and we've been indoors and in the gym as well."
He added: "It's been difficult with some of the guys travelling distances to the club, but they've been doing things closer to home trying to make the best of a bad situation really."
The last meeting between the two sides took place back in October, and saw the Pirates lose heavily at Old Deer Park by 34-10.
And for Davies, Sunday's encounter gives the Cornish side the perfect opportunity to right the wrongs of that defeat.
Davies said: "We played poorly as a team and we know that, so hopefully on the weekend we can show what we're made of.
"They're a tough outfit but we are coming into a little bit of form and we've got players coming back from injury, so we're looking a little bit more like the shape we want going into the play-offs."
Frosty conditions at the Camborne Rec have led to the Pirates proposing that Sunday's fixture be switched to the Mennaye Field in Penzance as a backup plan if the weather does not improve.
