Cornish Pirates heaped further misery on struggling Coventry with Friday night's comprehensive away win at the Butts Park Arena. The Pirates dominated from the outset, a converted try from Rhys Jones, alongside two Rob Cook penalties earning a 13-0 lead at half-time. After the break, the Pirates extended their lead with tries from Tyrone Holmes and Cook. Coventry also scored twice through Phil MacKenzie and Aaron Carpenter. The win moves the Pirates up to fourth in the Championship standings. Coventry, docked 15 points on Wednesday by the Rugby Football Union after going into administration, stay second from bottom.
