Jersey were too strong all around for North Walsham |
Jersey hammered Norfolk side North Walsham on St Peter on Saturday to remain nine points clear at the top of National Three South East. Sam Tuia set the tone for the match when he opened the scoring with a first-minute try. The islanders led 28-0 at the break, thanks to a penalty try, Tuia's second and one for number eight Nick Trower. Five tries in the second half, including two more for Trower and efforts from Donovan Sanders, Paul Rodgers and Ashley Maggs, ensured a bonus-point win. Head coach Ben Harvey said: "I thought it was an excellent performance; some of the attacking play we put together was great - I put it down to a lot of hard work. "The front five were terrific today, Paul Rodgers was superb in the absence of Jim Brownrigg; it was a great team performance." Jersey travel to second-from-bottom Sutton and Epsom next week for their last match before the Christmas break.
