Guernsey Rugby Club got their second successive win of 2009 with a 10-5 victory over London Irish Amateur at Footes Lane on Saturday. The win over the third-from-bottom team keeps then eighth in London South West Division Three. "We really needed that win, especially at home," coach Jordan Reynolds told BBC Guernsey. "We had to grind it out, London Irish in the last six games have knocked off four of the big teams," he added. "They came here with the intention to win but our boys had other ideas. It wasn't a high-scoring match but we'll take the two points anyway," he added.
