Guernsey's a win to moved them five points away from the relegation zone |
Guernsey Rugby Club eased their relegation worries with a 20-16 win over bottom side KCS Old Boys at Footes Lane on Saturday. Guernsey are still eighth in the London South West Three table, but are now five points clear of the drop zone. Experienced fly-half Blair Campbell returned to the side after a knee injury and made a big impact according to player-coach Jordan Reynolds. "He came back and had an pretty amazing game," Reynolds told BBC Guernsey. Reynolds also paid tribute to his stand-in skipper: "Nick Barton, who has been captaining the side in the absence of Simon Sharrott, was absolutely outstanding. "He does seem to play his best rugby when he's captaining the side and has that pressure on him." Guernsey's next match is a trip to Hampshire to face Tottonians on Saturday, 24 January.
