Vagabonds Ladies take on Eccles

Catrina Beswick scored Vagas' first-ever league try against Manchester.

Vagabonds Ladies return to league action on Saturday, with a tricky match against Eccles at Glencrutchery Road.

Darrin Cook's side have made an impressive start to their debut season in English North West Division Two but each match brings its own challenges.

"We're still getting to grips with regular matches and the changes in personnel that this brings", said Cook.

"If we start well and deal with the pressure then we're more than capable of taking the points."

Meanwhile, Eccles have had a mixed season so far and sit in fifth.

Ex-Vaga Abi Thompson will be in the Eccles 15 and will be out to give her former team mates a stern challenge.

Vagas are forced into making several changes to their line up.

Sarah Sleddon makes a welcome return to the front row along with the experienced Cheryl Gatfield. In the back row the versatile Cassie Watterson joins Jackie Riding and Captain Fran Hunt.

Behind the pack Sophia Ionnou continues her successful partnership with Abi Corkish. Lizzie Lennon and Sarah Quayle supply the pace outside and Hannah King provides a safe pair of hands at full-back.
