Vagabonds defied appalling conditions to make it two wins out of two in English North West Division Two. The Manx ladies rugby side ran in six tries, three in each half, to run out 38-10 winners in their first home game. After going 7-0 behind early on due to a converted try from visiting flanker Lucy Brook, it was the introduction of Rachel Beckley that turned the game. After setting up Amoure Ferreira for the Vagabonds' first try, she then became creator turned scorer. Beckley went over on the blindside. And a third first-half try from Fran Hunt, improved by Cat Beswick, gave the Manx women a 17-7 half-time lead. Hunt added another try after the break, further bolstered by a brace from open-side flanker Jackie Riding. And, with Beswick adding three more conversions, that rounded off a convincing Manx victory. Player of the match honours went to Sorrelle Williams, for her steadying first-half influence in laying the foundations for Vagabonds' second straight win. Vagabonds, in their first season in English North West Division Two, beat Manchester 15-10 in their first match of the season on 20 September.
