Douglas Royal beat fierce rivals Rushen 2-0 at Croit Lowey on Sunday to move top of the Sure Mobile Women's League.

Both sides started with unbeaten records but first-half goals from Donna Shimmin and Bekki Cole were enough to earn the Whites three vital points.

The win sees Royal maintain their 100% record, giving them a two-point lead at the top with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, in the Sure Mobile Women's Floodlit Cup, Peel beat Colby 2-1 at the National Sports Centre in Douglas.

Goals from Emma Faulkner and Sandra McLaughlin secured the win.

Nikki Cooil scored for the second week running for Colby.

The remaining Floodlit Cup match involving Corinthians and Laxey was postponed due to bad weather.
