York City Knights coach James Ratcliffe admits that he lost his temper with his players after Sunday's 44-34 Championship One defeat at Rochdale.
The Knights led twice, briefly, in the first half, but Ratcliffe was angry about the number of points conceded.
"There's people who are not willing to be unselfish," he told BBC Radio York.
"I believe what I am doing is right, and unfortunately some of the players don't buy into that, and these are the players who won't be with us."
He added: "They don't see what I, or the coaching staff, have to go through now.
"We'll put ourselves through it over the next two days. Unfortunately they'll go away tonight and have a couple of beers and it will all be forgotten for them.
"It doesn't work that way with me, I'm far too passionate about this game and about where I want to go in this game.
"This is not acceptable, and I've just said it in no uncertain circumstances down in the dressing rooms.
"If I feel the job I'm doing is not the right job, I'm an honest enough person to leave the club if I thought that would be for the better good."
The Knights, seventh in Championship One, are at home next Sunday to third-placed Blackpool, who ran in 22 tries to beat bottom club Gateshead 132-0 last week.
