York City Knights lose to Swinton after late collapse
York City Knights let in four late tries and collapsed to a 36-30 home defeat by Swinton in Championship One, after leading 18-10 at half-time.
Coach James Ratcliffe told BBC Radio York: "I think we got exactly what we deserved. Our second-half performance, once again, wasn't good enough.
"We're struggling to put our finger on why. We're asking the players why and it's just not coming from them.
"We've not done the things we asked them to do in the second half."
The Knights slipped to fifth in the table as a result.
They almost threw away the Rochdale game in the later stages, and this time their opponents had more time to overhaul the Knights' lead.
"I'm asking the players down there (why), it's becoming a speech I'm having to give after every game, and it's wearing a bit thin now," Ratcliffe added.
"I try and defend them but some of them need to have a really good look at themselves, their attitude and defence and their application when they play rugby."
