Paul March will watch the game from the stands because of a touchline ban |
York City Knights will go into their play-off game against Rochdale in a determined mood despite having three players banned for the game. Player-coach Paul March, David March and Andy Bailey are all ruled out, leaving the coaching staff with a selection headache. Paul March told BBC Radio York: "We're looking at different scenarios all the time. "We looked at it last week just in case. We'll train and make a decision." The three players are suspended after incidents in the final league game of the season a fortnight ago, also against Rochdale, and Paul March said all of them are very disappointed. "Me, David and Andy are gutted, especially Andy as it could have been his last game because he's retiring at the end of the year," he said. "I'm gutted for ourselves, I'm gutted for everybody involved with the club and also the spectators, but we have to live with that now and hopefully the lads will give a good account of themselves and take it to them on Friday night." | This is where we wanted to be and now we're here we're setting goals to go all the way | The Knights won the encounter two weeks ago but March said that will count for nothing in the play-offs. "It's going to be more intense. It's going to be quick. We've lost three experienced players now and some other players need to stand up and be counted and hopefully they'll do that and we'll come away with victory," he added. "It's a play-off series now and it gets more intense. Rochdale will be looking to improve on what they did but we've got a lot of improvement to do as well. "This is where we wanted to be and now we're here we're setting goals to go all the way."
