York easily saw off Woking to claim their first win in six games.
The Minstermen dominated from the off but had to wait until the 38th minute to take the lead when Daniel McBreen converted Simon Russell's cross.
Russell was also behind York's second goal, challenging Danny Bunce at the far post as the defender headed Richard Brodie's cross into his own net.
Mark Greaves thought he had made it 3-0 soon after but he was ruled to have impeded Woking 'keeper Lenny Pidgeley.
