Newcastle Vipers coach Rob Wilson to step down

Rob Wilson
Wilson has been with Vipers in various positions for 10 years

Newcastle Vipers player-coach Rob Wilson has revealed he will leave his post at the end of the season.

Wilson, 41, has been with the Vipers since 2000 as both a player and then a coach but will remain a co-owner alongside ex-team-mate Paul Ferrone.

The Canadian oversaw the Vipers 2006 Elite League play-off win, with the North East side beating Sheffield Steelers in the final.

Vipers will begin their search for a new coach at the end of the season.
