The experience of Tom Boswell helped to get the best out of his team |
Jersey Hockey Club reached the fourth round of the HA Trophy with the only goal of the game coming deep into extra-time at Slough. Penalty flicks looked likely until with just 30 seconds left Sean O'Flaherty hit a first-time volley into the top left corner of the Slough net. "Jersey put in a fantastic team performance today," said coach Shelagh Herbert of her young side. "I was so impressed with the quality of our defence against a good side." Jersey have been drawn at home against Ashford, from Kent, in the last 16, with the tie to be played on 13 February 2011. Ashford play in the Southern Premier League Division Two, but have won just two out of eight league games so far this season. If Ashford are unwilling to travel to Jersey, the islanders will have the choice of a UK venue for the tie. Jersey squad against Slough: Alex Pett (GK), Tom Minty, Bobby Minty, Ross Collins, Tom Le Lievre, Mark Dicker (Capt), Tom Boswell, Stuart Ramskill, Oliver Scholfield, Sean O'Flaherty, Tom Millar, Arnou Helmholt Kneise, Rob Cuming, Bradley Wherry
