World number two Peter Norfolk got his US Open campaign under way with victory over Sweden's Johan Andersson in his opening quad singles match. The 48-year-old from Hampshire came back from 3-1 down in the first set before storming through the second to wrap up a 6-4 6-0 win in under an hour. Norfolk also plays Americans David Wagner, the world number one, and Nick Taylor in the round robin event. The Paralympic champion won the first US Open quad singles title in 2007. Norfolk's win comes almost a year to the day since he beat Andersson in Beijing to win his second Paralympic quad singles gold medal. In the other match taking place on Thursday, Wagner thrashed Taylor 6-1 6-1 in just 46 minutes.
