The Great Britain men's football team clinched Deaflympics gold in Melbourne after a thrilling 2-1 win over Iran.

A 90th-minute winner from top scorer Lee Farrell, his 11th goal of the tournament, sealed the victory.

GB had taken the lead just after the break through Glasgow's Stephen Gardiner but Iran equalised with five minutes to go ensuring a tense finish.

The women's footballers won bronze - Catherine Hamill netted twice in a 2-1 extra-time win over Denmark.

The Motherwell player scored her first goal five minutes from the end of full-time to take the match into the extra period.

She then hit her second six minutes into extra-time to bring her tally for the tournament to three goals and secure the bronze.

It means Great Britain finish the Deaflympics with 16 medals - five gold, five silver and six bronze.
