The Merriens spent three months down under adapting to the conditions

Members of Guernsey's Commonwealth Games bowls team have been preparing for the conditions they are likely to face in India during October.

Husband and wife Ian and Alison Merrien have just returned from a training trip to Australia.

Ian, ranked 20 in the men's rankings, and Alison, women's number two, are part of the nine-strong team.

Alison said it had been more humid than she had expected and was "a small taste of what's to come".
