Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas was a junior international for Greece

Bristol Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas has been appointed England Under-15 basketball coach and will also assist with the Under-16 set-up.

"This is a great honour and I am overjoyed at the prospect of coaching an international team," said Kapoulas.

"Filton College and the Flyers have given me the chance to develop my coaching and to work with some of the country's top young players.

"That has helped me to gain recognition and ultimately this opportunity."

The Greek national was himself a junior international in his home country and begins his new role by selecting a new squad from training camps through December and January.

Kapoulas has been at the forefront of the Flyers' rapid rise up the national leagues from Division Four to Division One.

As head coach of Filton College Academy, he has also had a hand in developing some of the country's best young players in recent years, including 21-year-old Flyers captain Greg Streete - a former England junior international.
