The Manx badminton team will start their Inter-County Championship campaign on Saturday, with a double header against Lancashire. Both matches will be played at the National Sports Centre in Douglas and island coach Peter Short says it will be a tough test. "They will have a very strong team but we are confident and have the home advantage," said Short. This is the Isle of Man's only home tie in this year's competition. Their other fixtures see them travel to Nottingham, Derbyshire and Durham. Both days will open with singles, followed by doubles and mixed doubles matches. The Manx side will include several junior players as it looks ahead to the Island Games and Commonwealth Youth Games later in the year.
