Ian Hutchinson, who made history at the 2010 TT races by winning all five solo races, will ride for Yamaha in 2011.

The 31-year-old Yorkshireman, from Bingley, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

"I am a one-team rider so the emphasis of everything being done out there is for me and I can't wait to get going," he said.

"I held off making decisions until I knew where we were going to be with the injury, things are coming along great."

Yamaha will celebrate their 50th year of competing at the TT in 2011.

Hutchinson is currently recovering from a serious leg injury, which he suffered in a multi-bike pile-up at Silverstone in September.

He became the first man to win five TT races in a single week in 2010, beating Phil McCallen's record of four set in 1996.

Hutchinson made his TT debut in 2004 and has gone on to win eight times on the Mountain Course.

Shaun Muir will run and manage the Yamaha team that will benefit from a full works spec R1 Superbike as well as the Superstock and R6 Supersport bike that has performed so well in the British Supersport Championship.

The team are planning to compete in all of the International Road Races - the North West 200, the Ulster Grand Prix, Macau and the Isle of Man TT and will also look to participate in the British Supersport Championship as well.

"We're absolutely delighted with the signing. It's one that we have been looking at for quite a while," said Muir.

"We've probably known since November of last year that the TT is going to be part of our two-year racing programme, so we knew we needed a rider that would compliment the team and clearly Ian was top of that list, after his exploits last year."
