Ryan Farquhar looks to add second KMR Kawasaki rider

Farquhar was named Irish Road Racer of the Year for 2010

Ryan Farquhar has hinted that he may introduce a second rider to his KMR Kawasaki team for the International Road Races, including the 2011 TT.

The Dungannon rider told BBC Isle of Man that he is working on a deal with a British Superbike Championship rider as well as seeking funding from Kawasaki.

"We are in talks with a BSB rider and should be making an announcement come the end of February", he said.

Farquhar topped the Duke Rankings in 2010 after winning 57 races.

The 34-year-old, claimed two hard-fought podium finishes at the TT, including a fine second place in the Dainese Senior.

Despite a limited budget compared with many of the bigger teams, he is confident of finally landing the elusive big bike win on the Mountain course.

Farquhar is confident that KMR Kawasaki is ready for another rider as it enters its third year.

"So far, everything is going really well," he said.

"I'm 99% certain I'm going to run another road race but there is still a lot to sort out.

"We haven't got the backing the BSB teams and riders have got, so it's going to be a struggle this year, but hopefully we can come away from the TT with a win."
