Knight was world 'enduro' champion in 2005 and 2006
Trials rider David Knight started his 2011 season with a storming victory in the inaugural running of 'Eddy's Extreme Race,' near Leeds on Sunday. The 2010 Enduro 3 World Champion dominated the event and led both the one-hour races from start to finish, to claim a commanding overall victory. "It was a really good day for me - great training and an enjoyable way to start the year off," said Knight. Dougie Lampkin finished second overall with Greg Evans third. It was the first running of the extreme enduro organised by former world champion Paul Edmondson, in Tong, near Leeds. The KTM Enduro Factory Team rider continued: "The format of two one-hour races was good because it wasn't all down to just one result - you needed to do well on both occasions, which some riders weren't able to do. "It's been a good start to the year and a really good event."
