James Le Moignan made it through to the last 32 in Florida |
Jersey's James Le Moignan was knocked out of the Croquet World Championships in Florida by England's Robert Fulford. Le Moignan went through the group stages with seven wins from nine matches but was not expected to trouble world number two Fulford. After losing the first game to a triple peel Le Moignan recovered to win the second game. However Fulford's experience and nerve showed through and he won the third and deciding game. Next weekend the Channel Islands team travel to Sussex to play in the England County Championships.
Channel Islands' Team: Nigel Betts, Gavin Carter, Kevin Garrad, Richard Griffiths, James Le Moignan and Tony Le Moignan.
