 Jersey have now won two out of seven matches against Ireland |
Jersey beat Ireland for the second time in their annual croquet international match, winning a thriller 5-4. It was a nail-biting competition that came down to the last game of the last rubber, where Tony Le Moignan beat Irish number one Simon Williams 2-1. Jersey finished the opening day with a 3-2 advantage but Ireland levelled on the second day, leaving the score 4-4 going into the final rubber. Jersey won both of the doubles matches plus three singles to win the event. The Jersey team consisted of Le Moignan, his son James, Richard Griffiths and Gavin Carter. The quartet will represent the Channel Islands in the inter-county tournament at the end of May.
