Jersey's fullbore shooters have won the overseas shoot for the best country from outside Great Britain at the British Open at Bisley.

The island team's score of 1,185 and 105 'V' bulls was enough to see them edge past rivals Guernsey.

Andrew Le Cheminant top scored with 102 out of 105 in the team event.

But just as memorable was his individual shoot on Thursday, which saw him score one rare 75 to snatch a top-10 Grand Aggregate finish.

It means he is one of the few Jersey shooters ever to have reached the top 10 in shooting's most prestigious prize. Guernsey's Nick Mace placed second overall.

Bruce Horwood narrowly missed out on a coveted top-50 place, coming 53rd while David Le Quesne was 69th out of a field of around 1,300 shooters.
