Jersey beat an international field at the high-powered rifle shooting at Pirbright rifle ranges, near Bisley. Jersey won the Flame Trophy for the third time with Cliff Mallett the top score on the range to help Jersey to a eight-point victory. The Jersey team excelled in a strong field including 15 other nations as well as the UK military. Sophie Ponter performed well with 142 points in her first ever team match for the Jersey Rifle Association. Her team-mate Wally Langley said: "It was nice for young Sophie to be on the winning team the first time she's represented Jersey". Jersey came first with 1166.127 points, the RAF Blue team came second with 1158.114 and Canada Red on 1150.125 in third.
