Driver once again was the key to Romerils' win (CricketEurope/ICC)
Romerils have won their second consecutive Jersey Premier League cricket title.
Their five-wicket victory over bottom side Caesareans ensured they took one of the closest title races in years from Old Victorians.
Dave Gorman's 87 had helped set Caesareans a good total of 202-5.
And Romerils looked to be struggling at 70-3, but Ryan Driver once again showed his class to hit 77 not out to guide his side to their target.
Ian Crocker hit 32 for a 77 run fourth-wicket partnership with Driver before captain Martin Waite struck the winning runs.
"We've done really well to retain the trophy. It's really hard to retain it. Next year we'll be back for a third that's for sure," Waite told BBC Radio Jersey.
And Waite was quick to praise not just Driver, but the contribution of some of the more unsung members of his team too.
"Ryan's been great all year. Nigel Crocker has been irreplaceable. He's a fantastic cricketer and deserves his spot in the island team for my money.
"Pete Blackburn, John Prince and Shaun Bilson opened the innings and more than often got us off to a good start. Those guys are highly underrated by the island selectors and I hope they go on next season and prove their worth and get into that island side because they deserve it."
For Driver the aim of his side moves on to trying to win their first Channel Island Championship since it was re-vamped to the CI Club Championship in 1997.
"That's one we've definitely got our eyes on," he told BBC Radio Jersey.
Jersey Cricket Premier League final standings

Old Victorians 327
Sporting Club Francais 307
St Ouen 219

"We'd like to do the double this year and it's an exciting time. I like playing CI League because you play against players you don't play against every week.
"It's good fun but we're going to be playing hard this year and fingers crossed we'll come out successful."
Second-placed Old Victorians did all they could by beating Springfield by 88 runs at Grainville. OVs posted 273-7, Tom Gibbs getting 66 and Andrew Dewhurst scoring 59 as Kevan Crowell took 3-48.
In reply Springfield made 185 all out, Pat Kelly top scoring with 94 runs as Sam Dewhurst took three wickets for 47.
And third-placed Sporting Club Francais showed they will be a force in the CI League after completing their Jersey season with a nine-wicket victory over St Ouen.
The parish side got scored 196-6 in their innings as Anthony Kaye hit 83.
But Sporting Club's reply was a terrific 199-1 wicket. Phil Ramage hit an impressive 118 not out of 14 fours and three sixes in an unbroken second wicket stand of 137 with Trevor Rousseau.
