Cheetahs complete comeback race

Oxford Cheetahs fans enjoyed a rare chance to see their team in action when they finished third in a four-team tournament at Swindon's Abbey Stadium.

The Cheetahs were represented by Lewis Bridger, Troy Batchelor, Paul Hurry and Steve Johnston for the one-off fixture.

Swindon Robins ran out victors on 32 points, Cradley Heath came second with 29, Oxford scored 20 points, and Reading finished last on 19 points.

Batchelor ended up as Oxford's top scorer on eight points.

Cheetahs captain Steve Johnston said: "It was nice to riding for Oxford again.

"I spent a lot of years riding for Oxford and have some special memories of that time.

"The Oxford fans were always great - I had a lot of people who supported me while I was at Cowley."
