Campaign group Save Our Speedway (SOS) says it will fight to preserve Oxford's speedway heritage.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's meeting, SOS spokesman Chris Brown said, "It will be a tragedy if the sport ceases to be staged in the Oxford area."

A rescue plan needs to be approved before the entrants to the Conference League are finalised later this month.

The Cheetahs' problems began when issues arose over a failure to agree a deal on leasing the stadium site.
